India batted first after losing the toss and posted 186.
Bangladesh stand-in captain Litton Das won the toss and chose to bowl first and his bowlers proved him correct. Shakib Al Hasan took 5/36, while Ebadot Hossain took 4/47 as India crumbled for 186 all out, with KL Rahul top-scoring with 73 runs.
In reply, Indian bowlers didn’t give Bangladeshi batters any freebies while Deepak Chahar removed Najmul Hossain on the first ball of the chase. Then Washington Sundar struck, removing Litton Das for 41 and Siraj accounted for Anamul Haque.
But the biggest wicket came in form of Shakib Al Hasan, who looked at ease during his knock of 29. During the 24th over, Shakib tried to drive Sundar on the up, but the ball held onto the pitch a little and Hasan only managed to hit it in the air where Virat Kohli came up with a one-handed stunner.
He leaped towards his right and plucked the ball out of the air, sending back the experienced Bangladeshi batter.
