Abhishek (74) and Shubman (47) added 105 runs for the 1st wicket as India won by 6 wickets.
Pakistan had posted 171/5 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first by Suryakumar Yadav. In response, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi were expected to give a stiff response in their defense.
However, Abhishek Sharma hit Afridi for a six off the first ball of the Indian innings, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Shubman Gill then took on Haris Rauf, on the other hand, hitting him for multiple boundaries.
This led to several verbal altercations with the Gill-Abhishek duo and Rauf and Shaheen, as India raced to 105 in 9.4 overs, ending the competition there itself. The most notable altercation between Gill, Abhishek, and Shaheen Rauf occurred during the fifth over of India's chase.
Before the left-hander threw the strike to Gill, Rauf, who had just begun his spell, spoke to Abhishek a few times in the second and third balls of the over. The right-hander gave Rauf a death gaze and ended the over with a swat of his signature forward-press pull shot.
Abhishek chose to take advantage of the situation and give Rauf a mouthful while he was slowly making his approach to speak with his partner from the non-striker's end.
Before being separated by on-field umpires, the two cricket players came face-to-face. The broadcasters switched to advertisements because it was the final ball of the over. A brand-new video that captures the entire altercation from another viewpoint has appeared online.
It depicts Rauf making his way back while Rinku Singh and Harshit Rana, India's replacement fielders, make their way onto the ground while drinking. Rinku immediately approached Gill and pulled him from the tense scenario. Even as Rauf went back to the pitch side to collect his cap from the umpire, he was observed conversing with pacer Shaheen Afridi and Pakistan skipper Salman Agha.
