Bumrah made an instant impact in his first white-ball match after 14 months.
Playing his first white-ball match after 14 months, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah made an instant impact in India’s Asia Cup 2025 opener against the UAE on Wednesday (September 10).
In the game being held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, UAE opener Alishan Sharafu was going after bowlers before Bumrah delivered a stunning yorker to rattle the stumps.
Sharafu, who was batting on 22 runs off 16 balls with 3 fours and 1 six, had no answer to Bumrah’s brilliance and couldn’t bring the bat down on time as the ball knocked over the off-stump.

Shubman Gill, who returned to the T20I fold after a year, was named in the playing XI and he is likely to open the innings with Abhishek Sharma.
The team management trusted Sanju Samson for the wicketkeeper role. His batting spot was not disclosed, and there is a possibility of him playing in the middle order.
