The tournament will begin on September 9 with the final on 26.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has confirmed the venues of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 tournament. The tournament, hosted by the BCCI, will be played at two venues in the UAE—Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The tournament will begin on September 9-26.
Eight teams—India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong—have qualified for the tournament, to be played in T20 format.
The matches' start times have also been revealed; they will start at 6 PM UAE time, or 7:30 PM in India, making it prime viewing for Indian viewers.
There will be an unusual occurrence of scheduling overlap over the 19-day tournament, which consists of 19 matches. Two matches are scheduled for September 15: Sri Lanka vs. Hong Kong and UAE vs. Oman. While the second match will commence at the customary 7:30 PM, the opening match will start at 4:30 PM local time (6 PM IST). Parts of the two games will therefore unavoidably overlap.
The league games for India are set for September 10 against the United Arab Emirates, September 14 against Pakistan, and September 19 against Oman.
On September 21, India and Pakistan will play again in the Super 4 stage, should they place first and second in their respective groups. India's ranking in the league standings will determine the dates of their remaining Super 4 games.
"The ACC T20 Asia Cup venues and match timings are out! Looking forward to packed stadiums and some truly breathtaking encounters,” ACC president Mohsin Naqvi said.
“With top Asian cricketing nations set to battle it out in one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year, the announcement marks a major step forward in the tournament's preparations. From iconic stadiums to passionate fans, the stage is set for thrilling action across the continent,” the ACC said in a statement.
