AUS v IND 2025: WATCH- Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill engrossed in conversation during rain delays

Rian ruined the first T20I of the five-match series between Australia and India that was played in Canberra on October 29, 2025. Australia won the toss and chose to field first. India planned to play three spinners and two pacers, along with Shivam Dube.

However, there were repeated rain interruptions as India posted 97/1 in 9.4 overs, when rain and a wet outfield led to officials bringing an end to the game. Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill opened, and Abhishek made 19 in 14 balls with four fours, before Nathan Ellis dismissed him.

Then Suryakumar Yadav took over and looked in great touch, scoring 39* in 24 balls with three fours and two sixes, while Shubman Gill quietly made 37* in 20 balls with four fours and one six.

As rain poured at the Manuka Oval, cameras caught Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, Punjab teammates and childhood friends, in intense conversation. While rain denied India a strong finish, the chemistry between Gill and Abhishek, combined with Suryakumar’s return to form, gave fans plenty of positives to take forward
