Jasprit Bumrah feels overwhelmed to have performed magnificently well and help India achieve their first Boxing Day Test victory in Australia since 1981.

The young right-arm pacer returned with match-figures of 9/86 as Virat Kohli's men clinched an amazing 137-run win at the MCG to go 2-1 up in the four-match Test series and retain the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Bumrah, who made his Test debut against South Africa earlier this year, says it's a "great feeling" to firstly realize his dream of playing Test Cricket for the country and now record 48 across 9 Tests in South Africa, England and Australia.

"To play Test cricket is a great feeling: be it Boxing Day or any other day. I always wanted to play Test cricket. I made my India debut in Australia, so great feeling. I am really happy to contribute to team's success," Bumrah said at the press conference after receiving the man-of-the-match award.

"I always focus on consistency. When you have so many options, you may get confused. Someday you get wickets, someday another mate will, but we don't think about those."

The 25-year-old is also unperturbed by the grueling schedule and the heavy workload as the ambition remains to continue doing good for India.

He said, "Bowled a lot, but I don't mind, because this is why we train. We bowl a lot in Ranji-Trophy cricket, and it pays off. When I made my ODI debut, it was always a dream to play Test cricket."

"I made my Test debut early this year in South Africa and there was a bit of nervousness initially but I started learning slowly. The start has been good, I hope it will keep getting better," Bumrah concluded.
