In the first ODI, Australia's performance was top class as their batsmen David Warner, Aaron Finch, Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell performed well with the bat and then in the bowling, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa were outstanding with seven wickets between them. Australia would hope that their frontline pacers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins will come good in this match.

On the other side, India will look to bounce back in this match and for that their batsmen as well as bowlers have to step up. Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer all failed in the first match and they need to come good and two of them have to score big runs. In bowling, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami need to take wickets with the new ball and the spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja have to control runs flow in the middle overs.
