Raghu didn't travelled to the UAE with the rest of the support staff, after testing positive for COVID-19.
Indian cricket team’s throwdown specialist Raghavendra (Raghu) is all set to complete his quarantine period and join the team's training sessions in Sydney ahead of India’s first ODI on the 27th of November.
He didn’t travel with Team India to Australia from UAE – where all the players gathered for the long tour after IPL 2020 – after testing positive for the COVID-19. Now after recovering, the throwdown specialist has separately traveled to Sydney for the full series.
Sources close in the team management have revealed that Raghu has been following protocols and undergoing quarantine after arriving in Australia from India and has so far isolated himself from the rest of the team.
He has now completed the quarantine period in Australia and will rejoin the squad at training in Sydney that is certainly great news for the Indian set-up ahead of the big series against the Kangaroos.

As per reports in ANI, the source revealed: “The team came in from UAE after the IPL and it was a movement from one bubble to another so they could start training as soon as they returned negative coronavirus test results. But Raghu could not join the squad in UAE after testing positive and so had to complete his quarantine period in India and then fly in directly to Australia.”
He further stated, “As a result, he had to follow the complete quarantine rules here in Australia. But he is set to rejoin the squad after he ends the quarantine period and that is definitely great news for the boys going into such an important series.”
Noteworthy, the Indian team started preparations for the Australia series in Dubai and even trained with pink balls under lights with another throwdown specialist in Sri Lankan Nuwan Seneviratne.
India and Australia will play three ODIs, starting on 27 November in Sydney followed by three T20Is and four Tests as part of the World Test Championship from December 17 to January 19.
