India responded strongly by winning the 3rd T20I against West Indies by 7 wickets on Tuesday (August 2) after a setback on the previous day in St. Kitts. It was an a professional performance by the world no.1 T20I side in the world as they took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first, bringing in Deepak Hooda for Ravindra Jadeja who was rested. West Indies replaced Odean Smith with Dominic Drakes.

Kyle Mayers (73 in 50 balls) batted really well but didn't get the kind of support he needed from the other end as Brandon King (20) and Nicholas Pooran (22) got set but couldn't get the bigger score under their belts.

Rovman Powell (23) and Shimron Hetmyer (20) added some quick runs in the final overs as West Indies finished with 164/5 in their 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2/35, while Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya picked up a wicket each.

India's chase began nicely with Rohit Sharma reaching 11 off 5 balls but then he had to retire hurt after hurting his back. His participation in remainder of the series is in some doubt but more updates are awaited.
