Sreenath Aravind, who played a crucial role in Karnataka’s domestic success in the last 5-6 years, has announced retirement from Indian domestic cricket. This news came as Karnataka defeated Saurashtra to clinch the 2018 Vijay Hazare trophy in New Delhi.

33-year-old Aravind made his Karnataka debut in 2007 in T20s against Kerala and played his first FC match in 2008 against Mumbai. Aravind played 56 FC matches and picked up 156 wickets with best bowling performance in a match of 8/61. He played 41 List-A matches and picked 57 wickets with best of 4/41 and took 103 wickets in 84 T20 matches with best of 4.14.
Aravind also played a solitary T20I for India in 2015, against South Africa, picking 1/44.
Aravind played in IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore with some success, but was released from the team for IPL 2018 auction. Unfortunately, Aravind went unsold despite his INR 50 lakhs base price.
Aravind brings an end to his decade long domestic career with a win in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
