Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe are in Bangladesh for a tri-series. In the opening encounter, an all-round performance by Bangladesh against Zimbabwe has helped them win their first match. Former World Cup winners Sri Lanka won only five of 29 ODIs in 2017. The country's cricket authorities changed captain twice in six months after influential all-rounder Angelo Mathews stepped down in July, highlighting the turmoil in the national game. Mathews has been re-appointed as Sri Lanka's limited over captain ahead of 2019 World Cup, for which they were the final team to qualify. Meanwhile, underdogs Zimbabwe, who lost to Bangladesh in the first game of the tri-nation competition will look for a lift ahead of hosting a World Cup 2019 qualifying tournament in March.

Best economical pick – The off-spinner, Akila Dananjay who managed to raise a lot of eyebrows with his mystery spin. He made his debut at the age of 18 but failed to make his mark in his initial days. But he bamboozled few Indian batters quite comprehensively during the last ODI series and he will be looking to continue the same in this series also.

Top captains & vice captains – In the opening match of this series, a spirited fightback from Sikandar Raza alongside with Peter Moor ensured that the Zimbabweans went past 150. Raza was run out unfortunately when he was on 52 shattering their hopes of posting a respectable total. Despite all the efforts, they were bundled out for a mere 170 in 49 overs. Sikandar Raza was the pick of the bowlers too. He grabbed two wickets but was fairly expensive going at an economy rate of 5.3. From the beginning of his international career, Angelo Mathews was touted for greatness, not only as a player but also as a leader. He is back to lead Sri Lanka in the limited-overs formats and Sri Lanka would look to regroup under the new command.

Smart pick – Brendan Taylor announced his international retirement after his jaw-dropping century against India in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. However, he came back from retirement and played his first one day international match against Bangladesh in the opening match of this tri series.

Cautious Pick – Solomon Mire, The Zimbabwe opener dismissed for a duck without facing a ball in the opening match of this tri series against Bangladesh. He is a player who can give you a lot of points on his day and can give you minus points with his ordinary performances.

My XI – Sikandar Raza (Captain),Angelo Mathews (Vice-Captain),Brendan Taylor, A Dananjaya, S Lakmal, D Gunathilaka, Chris Mpofu,Peter Moor, Craig Ervine, Tendai Chisoro, Ryan Murray
