South Africa continued their dominance over Sri Lanka in the ODI series as they defeated the hosts by 4 wickets in the second ODI match at Dambulla and took a lead of 2-0 in the five-match series.

Captain Angelo Mathews opted to bat again but Lungi Ngidi gave a perfect start to South Africa as he took 2 wickets in his first over and after that Sri Lanka couldn't come back and scored an average total of 244/8 with the help of captain Mathews' 79* and Niroshan Dickwella's 69 runs.

In chase Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla gave a brisk start to their team and added 91 runs for the first wicket in just 14 overs. Faf du Plessis and JP Duminy also scored valuable runs and helped their team to chase down the target in the 43rd over.
