After whitewashing Australia in the 5 match ODI series, England demolished the visitors in one-off T20I match also at Edgbaston in Birmingham. England scored a mammoth total of 221/5 with the help of Jos Buttler's record 22-ball fifty, Jason Roy and Alex Hales also chipped in with quick forties.

In response Australia lost half of the side for just 70 odd runs within 9 overs, captain Aaron Finch (84) tried to put a fight but his efforts were not enough to secure the victory. Adil Rashid took 3 wickets for 27 runs and was named Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling spell.
