The whole of India is celebrating International National Day of Yoga more commonly known as "Yoga Day". Its an initiative Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi which the entire country has accepted gleefully. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his UN address suggested the date of 21 June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the world.

In his UN Assembly speech recently Indian PM Narendra Modi said " Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day."

Sachin Tendulkar now seems to have carried forward this phenomenon by posting this tweet. Tendulkar during his 24-year-old long career did do a lot of meditation and yoga to increase his concentration level during matches.

One expects this as to be the main reason why he managed to survive so long in competitive cricket. Tendulkar since his retirement has been involved in various social welfare activities besides awareness activities as well.

Here is Sachin Tendulkar's tweet to mark the occasion.
