WI vs SL 2018 : Statistical Preview of the Test Series

West Indies will begin their home season 2018 with a three-Test match series against Sri Lanka from 6 June. The last and third Test match is a day-night affair and will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The first two Test matches will be played in Port of Spain and St. Lucia.

This is Sri Lanka's first Test tour of West Indies in last 10 years and they will be looking forward to winning their maiden Test series in the Caribbeans.On the other hand, West Indies will be eager to bounce back after a poor performance in their last Test series against New Zealand last December. Both West Indies and Sri Lanka are ranked 9th and 6th in the ICC Test rankings respectively.

4 - Dilruwan Perera needs 85 more runs to become the 4th Sri Lankan player to complete the double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets in Test cricket after Muttiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas and Rangana Herath.

4 - Shai Hope (996 runs) needs 4 more runs to complete 1000 Test runs. He will be the 57th player from West Indies to achieve 1000 Test runs milestone.

17 - West Indies and Sri Lanka have played 17 Tests against each other. West Indies won 3, Sri Lanka won 8 and remaining 6 Tests ended in a draw.

86 - Angelo Mathews needs 86 more runs to become the 9th Sri Lankan player to score 5000 or more Test runs. He has scored 4914 runs at an average of 44.27 in 72 Tests with 8 hundreds.

99 - West Indies all-rounder Roston Chase has taken 99 wickets at an average of 31.77 in 35 FC matches and needs 1 more wicket to complete 100 wickets in the First Class cricket.

147- Number of wickets taken by Kemar Roach in Test cricket and needs 3 more wickets to become 13th Windies player to take 150 Test wickets.

990 - Runs Niroshan Dickwella has scored at an average of 33 in Test cricket and needs 10 more runs to complete 1000 Test career runs.

1120 - Dinesh Chandimal has scored 1120 runs at an average of 44.80 in 14 Test matches with 3 hundreds since January 2017 - the most runs by any Sri Lankan batsman since then.

2920 - West Indies opener Kraigg Brathwaite has scored 2920 runs in Test cricket and 80 more runs to complete the 3000 runs milestone.
