Rohit Sharma in action in prep for Australia tour | X/InstagramIndia ODI captain and opener Rohit Sharma has started his prep work for the upcoming Australia tour. Rohit Sharma only plays ODIs now, as he retired from T20Is in 2024 and from Tests in May this year.

From 2013 to 2025, Rohit played 67 Tests for India, scoring 4,301 runs at an average of 40.57, with 12 centuries and 18 fifties. He also played 159 T20Is from 2007 to 2024 and made 4231 runs with five centuries and 32 fifties at a strike rate of 140.89 and a best score of 121*.

However, it is the ODI format where Rohit Sharma has excelled the most. In 273 ODIs thus far, Rohit has 11168 runs with an average of 48.76 and a strike rate of 92.80. He has 32 hundreds and 58 fifties and is the only batter with three double-hundreds in ODIs, including the highest score ever of 264.

A video went viral on social media in which Rohit Sharma is seen batting nets, prepping for the ODI matches in Australia. India will tour for three ODIs and five T20Is in October this year, and Rohit Sharma and fellow great Virat Kohli are set to be on that flight.  

Amidst the rumors of his retirement from ODIs as well, Rohit Sharma recently posted a couple of photos from his practice session, with him running during warmups and padding up.

He has a decent ODI record in Australia, with 1,328 runs in 30 matches at an average of 53.12 and a strike rate of over 90, with five centuries and four fifties and a best score of 171*.
