WATCH - BCCI posts a throwback clip of MS Dhoni's 183*- his highest ODI score ever

Dhoni had smashed 183* against Sri Lanka in infancy of his international career.

On October 31 in 2005, MS Dhoni scored 183* against Sri Lanka at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. The score remains the highest ever in ODI cricket by a wicket-keeper batsman to date.

BCCI recalled the knock on the 15th anniversary and posted a clip so fans could relieve the memorable day. The then youngster, Dhoni had already got his place secured in the side with a 148-run knock against Pakistan in April 2005.

India was chasing a total of 299 and Dhoni was sent at number three after Sachin Tendulkar got out in the first over. He utilized the opportunity and scored unbeaten 183 off 145 deliveries.

The innings saw 10 sixes and 15 boundaries and the runs came at a strike-rate of 126.20. Ever since his first six in the innings over cover off Chaminda Vaas, he showed a glimpse of what's coming up.

India won the match by six wickets and chased down the target in just 46.1 overs. The score of 183* remained Dhoni's highest individual score in ODI cricket.
