Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 70th birthday today. One of the most popular leaders across the world, Narendra Modi became India’s prime minister for the first time in 2009 and won a second term in 2014.

Under his leadership, India has become a world leader in politics gaining lost ground and standing.

Narendra Damodardas Modi was born on September 17, 1950, In Vadnagar, Mehsana district of then Bombay state. Before becoming India’s PM, he was noticed for his work as the chief minister of Gujarat from 2002-2014. He made the state a hub of production and industry offering attractive incentives for companies to set up production plants, which included the now-famous Tata Nano car.

Some of his big steps as the PM of country have been demonetizing big value currency notes in 2016, the introduction of Goods and Service Tax (GST), the Swachh Bharat Mission, and the Make In India initiative.

Still holding the status of one of the most popular and favorable leaders in India and the world, PM Modi received wishes on his 70th birthday from all over the world and across vocations. The Indian cricket fraternity also wished PM Narendra Modi on Twitter.
