Indian cricketers wish Harbhajan Singh a very happy birthday as he turns 40

Harbhajan Singh made his India debut at 17 in 1998Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is celebrating his 40th birthday. Popularly known as the ‘Turbanator’, Singh has been a constant presence in the Indian cricket scene for a long time.

Harbhajan Singh Plaha was born on July 3, 1980, in Jalandhar, Punjab. He made his India Test debut in 1998 against Australia and ODI debut the same year against New Zealand. He has been part of India’s 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup victories.

However, his crown jewel has been his 32 wickets in 3 Tests against Australia at home in 2001 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. During the epic Kolkata Test, he became the first Indian to take Test hat-trick and shouldered the bowling attack throughout the series.

He has played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs and 28 T20I matches for India picking 417, 269, and 25 wickets respectively. He also has two Test centuries to his name. Harbhajan also led the Mumbai Indians in the early part of the IPL 2008 and has won the IPL thrice with the franchise in 2013, 2015 and 2017 and then won the tournament again in 2018 with Chennai Super Kings.
