India's T20I pacer Deepak Chahar was asked to tell his bowling plan if he gets to face MS Dhoni during a chat with Jatin Sapru and Irfan Pathan. Chahar has a couple of options in mind, but coincidently, he had asked the same question to Dhoni to find out the answer a few days back.
Speaking to Star Sports' Cricket Connected, Chahar revealed Dhoni gave him an option against him but he declined it saying the 38-year-old would smash him out of the park.
Dhoni told Chahar to bowl him a knuckleball. "I had asked the same question to him four days back. He (Dhoni) said 'knuckleball would be a good option'. And I replied saying that you would hit it out of the park then," said Deepak.
He shared his options with Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings skipper came up with a witty reply. "I said wide yorker and the slower bouncer would be good options and he replied saying 'thanks for revealing the plan and watch out for the auctions.", the pacer added.
Chahar has been Dhoni's go-to bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has worked out well for the franchise in the last couple of seasons. His ability to pick wickets early in the innings with the new ball has been utilized very well by Dhoni.
