Wasim Akram pays tribute to doctors and paramedic staff fighting Coronavirus crisis in Pakistan

He wrote a tune of musician Jawad Ahmed's "Humay Tumsay Pyar Hai [We Love You]".

Legendary Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram has paid tribute to medical and health professionals fighting against the ongoing health crisis by the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on Friday (March 27).

Taking to Twitter, Wasim shared a picture of himself with his wife and daughter, waving the white flag to honor the nation's heroes — the doctors, nurses, paramedics and other health workers who are working tirelessly throughout day and night to fight the COVID-19 crisis.

In the picture, the fast-bowling legend is seen holding a white flag alongside his family on his rooftop to honor the doctors and other paramedic staff who have been at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic.

He captioned the post: “Big salute to all the heroic Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics and medical staff at the front line fighting for us.”

As the medics tirelessly fight the pandemic all around the globe, the deadly and fast-growing COVID-19 is wreaking havoc on Pakistan as well, killing nine people and infecting almost 1,300 people there.

According to a spokesperson for the Punjab health department, Punjab has the highest number of coronavirus cases (448) in the country.

Noteworthy, the deadly virus has infected over 597,000 people and killed over 27,000 people globally with still no vaccine available to defeat this COVID-19 till the date.
