Australia batsman David Warner got the Allan Border Medal at the Australia cricket awards ceremony in Melbourne. The award is given to the best male Australian cricketer in a calendar year.

He won the Allan Border Medal by a single vote over Steve Smith, making it the closest Allan Border Medal race since Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke shared the award in 2009.

Warner has won three Allan border Medal, one behind Ponting (4) and Clarke (4). Warner had scored 647 runs at an impressive average of 71.88, a run less than the top run-scorer Rohit Sharma.

But England bowler Stuart Broad remembers only the Ashes, where he troubled Warner the most. He dismissed the Aussie opener seven out of ten times. Taking a jibe at Warner, Broad responded to an old tweet of England Cricket Board which had a clip of the Aussie's dismissals.

“Why is this suddenly getting retweeted more today?” wrote Broad in reply to the tweet.
