Retired legendary cricketers turned the clock back as they came against each other for Bushfire Bash on Sunday at Junction Oval in Melbourne. Ex-cricketers like Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, and few other big names entertained the fans with their big hits.

Batting first, Ricky Ponting XI scored 104/5. Brian Lara was the top scorer with 30 runs off 11 balls. He hit 3 fours and 2 sixes before retiring. Skipper Ponting also scored 26 off 14 balls and remained unbeaten.

For Gilchrist XI, Shane Watson was the highest run-scorer with 30 runs off just 9 balls. He smashed 3 sixes, which was the most by a batsman in the match. Captain Gilchrist also played a handy innings of 17 runs and hit one six.

Andrew Symonds in the lower order tried to snatch the victory away from Ponting XI by scoring 29 runs. But they still fell 1 run short of the target.
