WATCH- "Don't reverse sweep into your face," says Jimmy Neesham after getting injured

Neesham was playing for New Zealand A against India A in an unofficial ODI match.

New Zealand A batsman Jimmy Neesham got injured after the ball hit him on face after a failed reverse sweep attempt. It was the second unofficial ODI against India A when the incident happened.

The kiwi cricketer posted a picture of his injury on social media and wrote, "Got fixed up good today! Lesson: don’t reverse sweep up into your own face."

It was the 31st over the match when Neesham tried to reverse sweep India A's spinner, Krunal Pandya. The ball didn't get connected in the middle of the bat and hit the grille of his helmet.

Soon, a physio was called on the field and play got stopped. Neesham remained not out on 33* off 31 balls. New Zealand A scored 295/7 thanks to George Worker's innings of 144-ball 135.

In reply, India was restricted to 266/9. Despite the injury, Neesham played picked up wickets of Suryakumar Yadav and Vijay Shankar and ended with a figure of 2/24 at an economy rate of 3.43.
