Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s separation from the Royal family has been dominating the headlines over the last week, as the couple is moving to Canada with their son.

On January 8, the royal couple announced that they took a “step back” from the Royal Family to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.

While Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II accepted the decision, as Harry and Meghan, who would be splitting their time between the UK and North America, wants to be financially independent, the move has thrown Britain's monarchy into turmoil.

Well, the saga dominated the headlines for days with many criticizing the royal couple’s decision but Kevin Pietersen didn’t find anything wrong with it as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “do not want to be reliant on public funds”.

On Wednesday, January 15, Pietersen, former England captain, and cricket commentator has extended his support to Harry and Meghan on social media. Taking to Twitter, the former cricketer has supported the decision of the royal couple to start an independent life, saying they need to be allowed to make their independent choices.

Pietersen wrote on Twitter: “Dear Harry and Meghan. Go and be happy and go and do what you want to do. It's YOUR life and no one who criticizes you understands what you guys want/need to be happy. Be free, be YOU.”
