Former Australia wrist-spinner turned commentator Brad Hogg announced his T20I team of the year 2019. Hogg, who watches a lot of the shortest format of the game around the world, picked up a star-studded line-up that would defeat most opponents on its day.
Starting at the top, Hogg's team features Aussie veteran David Warner and Pakistan's Babar Azam opening the innings followed by a world-class middle-order comprising two successful international captains and mighty limited-overs batsmen in Virat Kohli and Eoin Morgan.
This power-packed top four is superseded by two outstanding power-hitters in Glenn Maxwell and Quinton de Kock, who lend the side a lot of balance considering one can chip in with a few overs and the other is a genuine quality wicketkeeper as well.
Hogg's robust line-up is filled with high-quality bowling prowess thereafter, including Rashid Khan as the sole spinner in support of pace quartet Trent Boult, Mitchell Starc, Chris Jordan, Jasprit Bumrah, who, if one observes closely, brings in all kinds of variety to the attack and can bowl in any phase of the innings.
