On the eve of the match, BCCI posted a video on Twitter in which Indian players said: “We are ready for the pink-ball Test. Are you?”

Architect of India's maiden Day-Night Test, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly also appeared on the clip and said: “If you see in the evenings, lot of important buildings and areas around Eden Gardens and in the city has gone pink.”

“We have left no stone unturned to get this Test match going. You can see the lit pink boat goes around the ganges. We have the pink balloon. So we have done everything to get this Test game going and its going to be a fantastic game,” he added.

After their initial resistance, Team India finally agreed to play Test cricket under lights with Ganguly the man behind making it happen. He also convinced Bangladesh, who were initially skeptical due to total unfamiliarity with the pink-ball at any level.
