WATCH- Ashton Agar gets hit in face after dropping his brother Wes' catch during Marsh Cup

The match was played between Western Australia and South Australia.

Ashton Agar | GettyNot often do you see violence between brothers on the field of cricket as it rarely happens that they are playing on the opposite teams? But something similar was seen during the Marsh Cup 2019 match between Western Australia and South Australia at Karen Rolton Oval.

Ashton Agar was fielding at the mid-on position while his brother Wes was on the crease. Ashton who is considered to be one of the best fielders in the country was offered a simple catch by Wes and as he ran around to attempt a straightforward catch, he slipped and copped the ball right between his eyes.

Blood started flowing immediately and teammate Jhye Richardson called for medics, while brother Wes rushed to comfort his brother. The force of the blow had knocked his hat and sunglasses off his head but after receiving some treatment on the field, the elder Agar was able to leave the field holding a rag to his head.

"He slipped over and the ball hit his glasses and the glasses split him open. The doctor wanted to stitch him up, but he just got engaged so he said he'll leave it to a plastic surgeon. I was pretty rattled ... It looked really bad. I was just worried about his health. I wasn't thinking about anything else, I just ran out of my crease to go see him. I didn't feel great, but thankfully he's okay,” 22-year-old Wes Agar said about his brother.
