“This will be the best innings you’ll play ever”, Rohit congratulates Rahane on becoming a father

India batsman Ajinkya Rahane became a proud father after his wife Radhika Dhopavkar gave birth to a baby girl on October 5, 2019.

Rahane was fielding on Day 4 of the first Test between India and South Africa when the news of the birth of his daughter broke out. India won the match the next day by a massive 204 runs.

The Indian Test vice-captain then took to Twitter to introduce his bundle of joy to the rest of the world.

Wishes started pouring in for the 31-year-old on social media as soon as his fans and teammates got the news.

Rahane’s fellow Mumbai and India batsman Rohit Sharma also extended his best wishes to the family.

“This will be the best innings you’ll play ever. Enjoy the time in the middle best wishes to the family”, Rohit tweeted.

Rahane replied back in kind and said he would be looking for support from his "senior pro" in this innings. "Thanks Rohit. I will need all your support from the non-striker’s end as you are a senior pro in this innings :)" he tweeted.

Rohit was also blessed with a baby girl in December last year. In fact, Rahane also joined the gang of MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh and Mohammad Shami by becoming a father to a girl.

Rahane married his childhood friend Radhika in 2014. The couple shared the news of her pregnancy after the World Cup ended in July.
