Sri Lanka on Monday (October 7) took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing three-match series over Pakistan. The visitors clinched second consecutive comprehensive victory against the hosts in Lahore, much to the delight of their fans and supporters in the cricketing fraternity.

The win came about on the back of a fine knock from young Bhanuka Rajapaksa whose blistering 48-ball 77 helped Sri Lanka post a very strong 182/6 in 20 overs before experienced bowler Nuwan Pradeep shone through for the visitors with a superb spell.

Pakistan struggled quite badly in the run-chase as only skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and Asif Ali went past the 20-run mark in the team's top six.

All-rounder Imad Wasim did try his best with a flurry of shots but it was never going to be enough with wickets falling around him. The hosts crumbled to 147 all out without even batting their full quota of 20 overs.

It was a memorable result for the visitors, especially after having arrived in Pakistan to face the No.1 ranked T20I side with a second-string squad at their disposal.

"Outstanding series win for @OfficialSLC over @TheRealPCB
 in Lahore,"
famous commentator Alan Wilkins summed it up nicely via a Tweet. "This young Sri Lankan team has a promising future under a young captain Dasun Shanaka whose brand of T20 cricket is fearless."

Majority of the renowned faces from Sri Lanka cricket took note of the outcome and also took to Twitter to celebrate the win.

The result was also a genuine cause of worry for Pakistan, losing at home to a side the team was expected to defeat convincingly, just one year prior to the next T20 World Cup in Australia.
