Former India cricketer and Lieutenant colonel of Territorial Army, MS Dhoni visited Ladakh on the occasion of India's 73rd Independence Day. The Army personnel in the area welcomed him. Dhoni later paid a visit to Army General Hospital and had a chat with the patients.

Ladakh is now a Union Territory of India. On August 5, the Government of India removed Article 370 and Article 35A which snatched the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Dhoni joined the 106 TA Battalion (Para) in Jammu and Kashmir at the end of July. He is currently on a two-month sabbatical and kept himself away from India's tour to West Indies.

The 38-year-old's pictures and videos surfaced on social media. No doubt fans are in awe of his decision to serve the Indian Army.

Dhoni last featured for India in World Cup 2019 semifinal. India lost the game, and that was the end of their journey in the tournament. They were considered as favorites to win the tournament, but an unfortunate batting collapse didn't help in the knockouts.
