South Africa pacer Dale Steyn wasn't included in the T20I side for India tour. He recently announced his retirement from Test cricket to be a part of the limited-overs team but was shocked not to to see his name. Even Faf du Plessis is not part of the T20I side.

Steyn is eyeing the T20 World Cup next year, but selectors have gone for new faces. The veteran pacer was disappointed and tweeted a jibe at the selectors. He even responded to a journalist and apologized to the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and millions of other Indian fans.

The 36-year-old cleared that he made himself available, unlike Chris Morris. "I did… Obviously lost my number in the reshuffling of the coaching staff," Steyn wrote in his tweet taking an indirect dig at the selectors.

South African journalist, Neil Manthorp tweeted, "The new selectors are obviously saving you for the 'big' games. (Who are the new selectors?)."

To which Steyn came up with an apology in a sarcastic way. "Apologies to Virat and a billion people for thinking they not," he tweeted.

Injuries have bothered the star Proteas pacer a lot in his career. Steyn is set to be a part of the inaugural Euro T20 Slam, after a shoulder injury kept him away from action in the World Cup 2019.
