Cricket fraternity congratulates Sachin Tendulkar on his induction into ICC Hall of Fame

The ceremony was held in London, which also saw South Africa’s Allan Donald and Australia’s Cathryn Fitzpatrick also been inducted into the illustrious club.  

Sachin Tendulkar’s induction was widely awaited as his contemporaries Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble were inducted before him and with Tendulkar’s induction, not only his fans, but his admirers in the cricket fraternity as well are elated.  

Tendulkar is the only player to feature in 200 Tests and has a combined total of 34,357 runs including 100 centuries and 164 half-centuries for India. He stayed as the No. 1 ranked Test batsman for 1157 days and the No. 1 ranked ODI batsman for 354 days.

The Mumbaikar had made his debut at the age of 16 in 1989 against Pakistan and retired at the age of 40 in 2013 against West Indies. The news of him being finally inducted into the Hall of Fame after 6 years of his retirement led to congratulatory messages from his colleagues including former and current cricketers on Twitter.
