Sachin Tendulkar pays tribute to coach Ramakant Achrekar on the occasion of Guru Purnima

Late Ramakant Achrekar produced the most famous pupils of Indian cricket.

On the day of Guru Purnima, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar paid tribute to his coach late Ramakant Achrekar. Sachin was one of his pupils who went on to play for the national team.

Sachin tweeted a picture of him with Achrekar Sir on Twitter with the caption, “गुरुर्ब्रह्मा ग्रुरुर्विष्णुः गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः गुरुः साक्षात् परब्रम्ह तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः Guru is the one who removes the darkness of ignorance in the student. Thank you Achrekar Sir for being that Guru & guide to me and making me what I am today. #GuruPurnima

Sachin was without a doubt Achrekar sir’s best pupil who scored over 34,000 runs in international cricket. The greatness of the two can be represented by the Dronacharya Award and the Bharat Ratna Award that the teacher and the pupil received.

His other famous students include the stylish batsman Vinod Kambli and Pravin Amre.

Former cricketer Virender Sehwag also tweeted on the day of Guru Purnima saying, “May the Darkness be dispelled. Happy #GuruPurnima !
