Actor Siddharth Suryanarayan heavily criticized the former Indian-cricketer-turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar for his harsh words against Ravindra Jadeja during the World Cup 2019 in England.

Ever since Manjrekar called MS Dhoni as ‘our watchdog behind the stumps’, the commentator has been continuously receiving rage from one and all and even a supporter complained to the International Cricket Council (ICC) about his on-air comments.

Jadeja, who is currently playing for India at the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales, has had an altercation with Manjrekar, who referred the all-rounder as a ‘bits and pieces’ player and said he doesn’t like players who aren't specialists at anything. The cricket expert believes that Jadeja is only a player for Tests, saying the Saurashtra man doesn’t fit in one-day cricket by any means.

The severe words didn’t go down well with Jadeja, who mentioned his words as ‘verbal diarrhea’ and also asked Manjrekar to respect cricketers, who have achieved something in their career while reminding the number of games he has played in national colors.

Beside many fans and Jadeja’s local Saurashtra fans, Siddharth also took a dig at the commentator while picking Harsha Bhogle as his favorite pundit, describing Manjrekar’s commentary as ‘terrible’, ‘partisan’ and ‘crass’. And even the actor  then went even harsher, calling Manjrekar an ‘idiot’ on Twitter.

His post reads, “Harsha Bhogle is my favorite Indian commentator. No cricketer can ever use his never having played international cricket against him. So, the Jaddu issue is not about ego. It’s about terrible, partisan and crass commentary which so many have called out. Stop babysitting an idiot.”

Noteworthy, Manjrekar surprised everyone by picking Jadeja in his playing XI for India’s semi-final match against New Zealand to be played on July 9 at the Old Trafford in Manchester.
