Indian cricket fraternity pay tribute to Ambati Rayudu after his retirement announcement

Rayudu was snubbed twice for World Cup selection.

Ambati Rayudu called time on his cricket career | AFPAmbati Rayudu, the former India middle-order batsman, has announced his retirement from all formats of the game in an email to the BCCI on July 3, 2019. Rayudu, who played First Class cricket for Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh, has called quits on IPL cricket as well.

The right-handed batsman was overlooked for the Indian 2019 World Cup squad initially as Vijay Shankar was preferred over him for his three-dimensional abilities of batting, bowling, and fielding. He was not even considered as replacement player despite being named as a reserve when Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar were injured. First Rishabh Pant and now Mayank Agarwal was chosen to take over the duo, leaving Rayudu disappointed.

Though not explicitly mentioned, Rayudu may have taken the snub seriously and given his age, he might not get a chance to make a comeback and found it better to retire from all parts of the game. His former colleagues and teammates of Indian cricket team took to Twitter to pay him tributes and we have the best tweets for you.
