Kedar Jadhav made his presence felt with the willow in the World Cup 2019 match against Afghanistan at Rose Bowl on Saturday, 22nd June, but the Indian all-rounder is yet to make the most of his opportunities in the ongoing ICC event in England.

The Pune-born cricketer didn’t have much role to play in India’s first three victories in the ongoing World Cup 2019, but got a chance to impress with the bat against Afghanistan.

However, Jadhav could only manage to score 52 off 68 balls with three fours and a six against Gulbadin Naib’s men after Mohammad Nabi got rid of the dangerous Virat Kohli, but he could have done better, as India managed to post only 224/8.

After the match, Michael Vaughan, former England captain, and commentator, has opined on Jadhav’s place in India’s XI in the ongoing ICC event, where the Men in Blue are unbeaten so far.

It seems that Vaughan was not pleased with Jadhav’s place in India’s Playing XI after another slow innings against Afghanistan.

He suggested that India should include Rishabh Pant, who got called up as replacement for injured Shikhar Dhawan, in their playing XI to strengthen their batting line-up instead of Jadhav.

Taking to Twitter, Vaughan wrote, “The rest of the world will be delighted if Kedar Jadhav continues to play ahead of Rishab Pant … !! #CWC19 #JustSaying,”
