Rohit Sharma is celebrating his 32nd birthday today (April 30). Fondly known as ‘Hitman’ for his remarkable ball striking ability, Sharma is widely regarded as one of the most elegant batsmen in contemporary cricket.
Rohit, who made his international debut way back in 2007, boasts of quite a few world records to his name. He is the proud owner of the highest individual ODI score — 264 (against Sri Lanka in 2014). Moreover, he is the only batsman in the history of cricket to have scored three ODI double tons and four Twenty20 international centuries.
During his 12-year long cricket career thus far, Sharma has amassed 8010 ODI runs in 206 matches at an average and strike-rate of 47.39 and 87.95 respectively. He also has 22 ODI tons and 3 Test tons to his name. Rohit has also played a key role in India’s 2007 ICC World T20I triumph and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy title win.
