Former South African captain Graeme Smith and ex-English cricketer Kevin Pietersen engaged in a hilarious Twitter banter. The two pulled each other's leg and it was Smith who prevailed in the end.

On Sunday, a Twitter user lauded the famous fighting Test innings of Smith which he played against Australia at Sydney in 2009. Smith had come out to save the Test match with a broken hand. It is easily one of the most memorable moments in cricket.

Fan, sharing that he watched the video to uplift himself, wrote, “@GraemeSmith49 for some reason YouTube recommended me to watch your ‘09 Sydney innings again. At a time when I was feeling a little low on confidence, this video reminded me what human grit and determination can do. This remains one of the most memorable moment in cricket for me!”

Smith responded to the fan and thanked him. He replied, “Glad I could help a little :)”

Pietersen, seeing the opportunity to pull his mate's leg, tried to take a dig at Smith. He wrote, “I watch it when I want to feel sick. Graeme bluffed a career with what could only explain as the weirdest technique ever to play cricket.”

It certainly backfired on KP as Smith reminded him of his problems against left-arm spinners. He tagged Pietersen and wrote this, ”Sing with me “ we all love left-arm spin, left arm spin” #noidea #vettori #paulharris #shakib #ojha #jadeja #yuvi”

Both Smith and Pietersen are currently in India for Indian Premier League (IPL). They were recently spotted playing Gully cricket.
