Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar died at the age of 63 on Sunday (March 17). Parrikar, who had also served India as a defence minister, passed away after battling pancreatic cancer for over a year.

Manohar is remembered as the "original aam aadmi" by fellow politicians, journalists and Goans alike. No wonder, his demise has left a huge void in Indian politics.

As soon as the heart-wrenching news broke out, former and current Indian cricketers offered their condolences to Parrikar’s family.

As per a PTI report, the Centre has declared national mourning on Monday (March 18) to grieve Manohar Parrikar. National flags will fly at half-mast in Delhi and across the capitals of all the states and union territories.

Parrikar's last rites will be held in Panjim on Monday and top political leaders of the country are expected to reach Goa for the ceremony.
