WATCH: Martin Guptill gets interviewed by wife Laura McGoldrick after his brilliant ton

Guptill's century helped NZ go 1-0 up against Bangladesh in ODI series.

Laura McGoldrick interviews her husband Martin Guptill | TwitterMartin Guptill shined for the New Zealand team in their first ODI in Napier against Bangladesh of the five-match series. His century (117*) enabled Kiwis to chase down the target with five overs to go.

Bangladesh had batted first and put on 232 on back of a brilliant half-century from Mohammad Mithun. New Zealand had to chase the target down on a slow pitch and apart from Guptill, Henry Nicholls hit 53 and Ross Taylor made 45* in the chase.

Guptill, in his post-match interview, credited the bowlers for the victory and said, "The most pleasing thing was how the guys restricted Bangladesh up front with the ball. Losing four wickets in the first 10 is really tough to come back from."

The interesting thing to note here was the Man of the Match Martin Guptill was interviewed by presenter Laura McGoldrick, who also happens to be Guptill’s wife.

We have previously witnessed such an incident back in India when TV presenter Mayanti Langer had interviewed husband Stuart Binny during an IPL match.

Martin Guptill had tied the knot with wife Laura McGoldrick in 2014. Around 200 people attended the auspicious ceremony. The couple tied the knots at St Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Remuera. Both met during a cricket show and got engaged back in October 2013. They also have a daughter named Harley and have shared their child’s pictures on social media.

Here’s the video of their interview:
