The right-arm medium-fast bowler is one of the premier fast bowlers in the world, an expert in swinging the ball both ways and is a credible death overs bowler.

Kumar, who hails from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, was born on Feb 5, 1990, and raised through the ranks of UP cricket making his FC debut at the age of 17. Kumar made his India debut in T20Is against Pakistan in Bengaluru and had a wonderful start to his international career, picking wickets of Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad, and Umar Akmal for just 9 runs in his 4 overs.

Bhuvneshwar became the first Indian bowler to take a wicket with their first ball in ODI cricket when he clean-bowled Mohammad Hafeez on his ODI debut and all of his first wickets in T20I, ODI and Test were bowled.

Since then, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has played 21 Tests, 103 ODIs and 34 T20Is and has taken 63, 114 and 33 wickets respectively in each format for the Indian team. Bhuvneshwar has also developed into a handy batsman lower down the order and has three scores of fifty plus in Tests and one in ODIs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also one of the most successful bowlers in Indian Premier League, where he has played mainly for Sunrisers Hyderabad and has 120 wickets in 102 matches in the T20 league.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar also holds the distinction of being the only bowler to dismiss the great Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in Indian First-Class cricket. Bhuvneshwar Kumar married Nupur Nagar on 23 November 2017.
