Australian batsman D'Arcy Short could have got his second T20 hundred if the on-field umpire had not made an error.

Short scored an unbeaten 96 runs off 57 balls after full 20 overs, as his team Hobart Hurricanes ended on 185/2 against the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.

Short had hit one of the deliveries during 18th overs, bowled by Dwayne Bravo, for a four. But umpire thought it didn't hit the bat and he signaled it for leg-byes. Unfortunately, he fell just four runs short of his century.

The official Twitter account of Cricket Australia shared the video and wrote, ”D’Arcy Short finishes unbeaten on 96, but this one was given four leg byes just a couple of overs earlier! #BBL08”.

Hobart won the match by 59 runs after bowling Melbourne out on just 126 inside 20 overs. The highest scorer in the team was Seb Gotch who scored just 35 off 26 balls.

For Hobart, the pick of the bowlers was Riley Meredith, He picked up four wickets and gave just 21 runs with an economy of 5.25.
