Brendon McCullum might be struggling to impress with the willow in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2018-19, but the New Zealand great has been as brilliant as ever on the field.

On Sunday (January 6), former Kiwi skipper has once again proved why he is still one of best in the business with his electric energy on the field during a BBL match between Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers at the Perth Stadium, in Perth.

McCullum is still able to turn back the clock in spectacular style even at 37, as the Kiwi has once again come up with a brilliant effort in the field on Sunday, pulled-off two spectacular efforts on the field which left Mel Jones all in awe for him at the commentary box in Perth.

McCullum has shown his brilliance in the 14th over of the Perth encounter when Mitchell Marsh hit a Josh Lalor delivery towards long-off, where he was fielding.

While the ball was belted in his direction, looking to be heading for a six and McCullum flew off the ground and dove full length and tried to grab the ball in his left hand despite the ball seemed beyond him and it almost looked like he had taken a brilliant one-hand screamer while being mid-air.

However, the ball bounced out, as McCullum couldn't quite cling on to the ball, but the New Zealander saved five runs for Brisbane who won the encounter by 5-wickets against the hosts Scorchers here.

Meanwhile, McCullum’s stunning effort forced the world to take notice and Fox Sports commentator Jones to say: “It would have been the catch of the century from Brendon McCullum.”

On the other hand, New Zealand cricketer Jimmy Neesham took Twitter to laud McCullum for his brilliant efforts on the field, wrote: “Oh my god @Bazmccullum that would’ve been an absolute worldie! Best effort I’ve ever seen from a 37 year old”.

Noteworthy, the 37-year-old had also taken another spectacular catch at the long-on to dismiss Cameron Bancroft before that scintillating effort in Perth.
