Alex Carey was batting for Adelaide Strikers when he messed up in stealing a single.

Alex Carey of Adelaide Strikers in Big Bash League lost his wicket in a very unusual and funny way. Though it was just a run-out, no one knew it would end up looking like a circus. This has to be the rarest and hilarious run-out ever.

Batting first, Adelaide batsman Carey played one down to mid-on in the tenth over off Perth Scorcher pacer Jhye Richardson's delivery but ended up finding the fielder. Alex and his batting partner Jonathan Weels were uncertain about the run, even though they agreed for it initially. That's what caused the mix-up. A yes and no between batting partners usually brings up a gifted wicket for the opposition. Something similar happened with the Strikers.

Carey continued running but Weels wasn't convinced for a run and went back to the non-striker's end. Ashton Turner had a shot at the non-striker’s end but missed. Nathan Coulter-Nile got the opportunity to throw this time.

Unfortunately, Coulter-Nile also missed the stumps. Turner, for the second time, had to aim the stumps, but this time he threw it to keeper's end where Carey was struggling to make his ground and ended up getting dismissed.

When Alex lost his wicket, Adelaide's score read 40/4 in 9.5 overs. A disaster was waiting for Strikers as they lost another wicket on next ball, and another after two balls. Eventually, the Colin Ingram-led side was bundled out on just 88.

In reply, Perth Scorchers chased down the target in 18 overs with 7 wickets in hand.
