Indian cricket team hero and cancer survivor Yuvraj Singh turned 37 years old on December 12. He celebrated his birthday by cutting the cake in the company of wife Hazel Keech and former teammate Zaheer Khan.

The out-of-favor Indian batsman took this occasion to announce his support of treatment of 25 kids suffering from cancer through his foundation ‘You We Can’.

Yuvraj, who played a pivotal role in India's World Cup 2011 win, was diagnosed with cancer soon after the tournament. After successfully undergoing chemotherapy in the United States, Yuvraj returned to India in 2012 and made his international comeback in a T20I against New Zealand.

In the video tweeted by Yuvraj, he said, “Today I celebrate the precious gift of life after cancer. Today I thank God for giving me the strength to defeat cancer. Today, there are billions of people in this country who cannot afford the cost of this treatment and it is my mission to address this gap through my foundation YouWeCan.”

“Today, on my birthday, I pledge to support the treatment of 25 children from underprivileged families who are battling cancer, through YouWeCan.”
