Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir says he wants to be a cricketer again in his next life.

Gambhir recently announced his retirement from the game in an emotional video and also added that he would like to bag few five-wicket hauls as well if he plays cricket in another life.

"Cricket in my next life too but with a rider. Wanna open the batting and bowling too. @BCCI #Unbeaten," his tweet read.

Gambhir didn't get a chance to feature in the Indian team for one last time. His last game for India was in 2016. However, the Delhi cricketer thinks the farewell match should not be arranged for any cricketer. “I don't think a farewell game should be held for any cricketer," he said.

The southpaw was part of two World Cup wins for India. He played a major role in both the finals. Gambhir also led IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders to a couple of titles wins under his captaincy in 2012 and 2014.

"Each time I got out playing for India, or KKR or Delhi Daredevils, this thought would turn into a sharp disturbing noise and walk with me all the way to the dressing room shouting that 'it is over Gauti'," he said.

But Gambhir was a fighter. After starting with a poor form in IPL 2014, he went on to win the title in that season.
