Born in the year 1982, Indian women's great Mithali Raj celebrates her 36th birthday on Monday, December 3.

The right-hander has been an absolute legend of the game over the years, inspiring a generation of young girls to take up the sport across the country.

Making her ODI debut at a very early age of 17, Mithali struck an outstanding 114 against Ireland to kickstart her illustrious career.

Becoming the first women's batter to reach 6,000 One-day International runs at the highest level, Mithali has amassed 6550 of them at an astounding average of 51.17 across 197 games in the 50-overs format.

Even at the pinnacle of our sport, Test Cricket, the girl with the most affable presence in the beautiful women's game has scored 663 runs at 51.00 from 10 matches for the country. Mithali also has 2,283 runs in T20I cricket from 85 games.

But of course, her contribution to this gloriously beloved sport goes beyond the mere numbers and statistics. Along with the outstanding Jhulan Goswami, Mithali has been as much an impregnable pillar of Indian Cricket as the legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli for the nation.
