Former New Zealand cricketer Nathan McCullum on Saturday (December 1) slammed social media reports of his death, saying that he is well and truly ‘alive and kicking’.

Nathan, who is the elder brother of former Black Caps skipper Brendon McCullum, also expressed his shock as where this fake news transpired from.

Rumours were circulated on various social media platforms that Nathan McCullum had died and his wife Vanessa also confirmed about his passing away. However, the cricketer himself declared those reports fake as he posted a selfie on Twitter to prove his existence.

“I am alive and kicking more than ever before. Not sure where this news has come from but this is fake. Love you all,” he wrote in the caption.

Nathan McCullum, 38, has retired from international cricket in 2016. Being an off-spinner and a handy lower-order batsman, Nathan represented New Zealand in 84 ODIs and 63 T20Is. While he took 63 wickets in the 50-over format, he claimed 58 scalps in the shortest format of the game.
