The 2011 World Cup triumph will always be etched in the memories of Indian cricketers and fans. Former India captain MS Dhoni and left-handed opening batsman Gautam Gambhir were the heroes in the summit clash as they scored 91* and 97 respectively while chasing Sri Lanka’s stiff target of 275.

Soon after Dhoni hit the winning six off Nuwan Kulasekara, all the Indian players went numb with some of them even shedding tears at the Wankhede. It was India’s second World Cup victory after 28 years and was also the ultimate crown in the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s illustrious cricketing career.

Recently, Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who played Dhoni’s character in his biopic, recalled the historic World Cup victory by posting a video of his reel six from the movie alongside the original one. Sushant was near perfect in portraying Dhoni’s role and is deservedly getting accolades for the same.

Here’s the video:

Dhoni is currently resting after being left out from the T20I squad of Australia series. He will join the team for the three-match ODI series Down Under, slated to start on Saturday (January 12).
